The Association ARBITRI will host its fourth annual arbitration conference on 24 October 2018 at Hotel Europe (Vladislava Škarića 5, Sarajevo 71000, Bosnia and Herzegovina). This is now a traditional event of the Association, which aims to promote arbitration among the business and legal community in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and provide a platform for networking between local and international practitioners in the field.

Facing four investment arbitrations worth over BAM 1,5 billion, this mechanism of dispute resolution is becoming an increasingly important aspect of BiH’s public discourse. As a new, developing, arbitration forum, BiH faces the need to adequately adjust to a developed and sophisticated global arbitration system.

With the topic, Investment Arbitration in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Lessons Learned and Path Forward, the Fourth Sarajevo Arbitration Day will bring prominent experts in the field to discuss the current topics relevant to the BiH market. The main focus of this year’s Conference will be investment arbitration, with an emphasis on the practical aspects of investment arbitration, infrastructure projects, FIDIC standard contracts and the investment and concession legal framework in BiH. The fourth annual conference is yet another step toward preparing practitioners, arbitrators, and other interested parties for the necessary changes.
